Below is just a sample list of Great Fun and Learning Opportunities available for Young People

 

Summer/Winter

 Camp Activities

 
Aquatic
Do you enjoy the water? Then the waterfront is where you should be! Try your skill at surf bikes, canoeing, knee boarding, and/or skiing. Learn new techniques in each sport
 
Archery
Sharpen your aim and shooting skills. Experienced certified instructors. With practice, maybe you can hit the bull’s-eye!
 
Basketball
This is a week of intense one-on-one as well as group instruction. With qualified instructors you will spend the week with practice drills, games, and learning new techniques. At the end of the week you will show off your new skills in the grand finale camp vs. staff game (Teen camps only).
Beginning Guitar
This is a wonderful opportunity you won’t
want to miss whether you
have a guitar or not. With
your instructor,  you’ll learn new rhythms,
correct fingering, and awesome
songs. Prepare to lead out in song services at camp outs, retreats, school, and/or
church activities. If you don’t have your own guitar, there will be a limited number available. Offered only at Teen Camps.
Cooking Creations
Party planning, meal preparation, and nutrition will all be packed into this class.
Learn to plan a party for your friends, as well as, fix nutritious meals and goodiesfor your family.
 
 
 
 
 
Crafts
Are you creative? If your interest is basketry, calligraphy, candle making, ceramics, leather craft, or Pinewood Derby cars, you will learn the proper techniques involved in perfecting this talent. Offered only at Specialty Camps.
 
 
 
Craft Creations and Design
Come join us for a week of ceramics and paper craft! During the week you will spend time in ceramics as well as learn paper art. You will learn a variety of paper techniques such as making paper, creative cards and envelopes and even books.  Offered only at Teen Camps
 
Digital Photography
Get on the cutting edge of photography with our Digital Photography class! Expert staff will teach you the do’s and don’ts of composing digital photographs. You will also learn to improve the quality of your photos through Shareware. If you have your own digital camera we encourage you to bring it so you can increase your skill using your own camera. There will be some cameras available for use at camp. Next time your friends get-together you can record the memories with your new skills.
 
 
 
 
Golf
Whether you’ve never swung a club or would like to improve your skill, you will find this week packed with the fundamentals of golf. Learn chipping, golf etiquette, and putting.
 
 
 
Gymnastics
Love the excitement of cartwheels and
round-offs? Let  gymnastic experts take
your tumbling to a whole new level. Improve your positioning and execution, form, style, and technique. At the end of the week you will show your new talents by performing in the special gymnastic program for the rest of the campers.
 
 
High Adventure
Scaling our 36-foot wall is just one of the things you will do through the week. You will also canoe, mountain bike, drive the go-carts, and much more. Climbing has increased in popularity everywhere! Challenge yourself on the high ropes course. Certified instructors will help you advance through the week creating more challenges for you to master. Offered only at Specialty Camp.
Horsemanship
The ole west is gone, but the fun and enjoyment of riding a horse can still be found at the corral.
Campers receive practical training in the fundamentals of how to ride and handle a horse.
Certified instructors supervise every class to make sure that safety is foremost and that every camper has a great time.
Improve Reading, Math &
Study Skills
You will learn how to make the
most of your time and study
habits, as well as learn techniques
to improve math skills & reading
comprehension.  Discover how you can increase your learning power. Offered only at Specialty Camp.
Lego® Robotics
Introduce the students to the theme of robotics. It will provide inspiration in creating and building solutions to real-life problems. Offered only at Teen Camps. Requires both class periods.
Lifeguarding (ages 15-16)
Did you ever want to work as a lifeguard at a public pool, beach, or summer camp, but weren’t certified? Now you can be! To get certified you will have to work hard swimming laps, perfecting your strokes, take CPR, and practice saving lives. Passing the test is not guaranteed, but if you work hard you can do it. Must be a competent swimmer. Offered only at Teen Camp. Requires both class periods.
Mountain Biking and Go-carts
Mountain biking is one of America’s fastest growing sports, and with good
reason. Whether you’re speeding along local trails or racing over our track
in a go-cart, you will enjoy the variety this camp offers. This year you will be
going to Hanson Hills a recreation park near the camp that has special bike trail.
 
Outdoor Exploration
Discover and explore the great outdoors. As you explore around camp you will study aquatic life, orienteering, and search for
Petoskey stones.  Nature Center director, will help you explore and learn from God’s creations. Offered only at Teen Camps
 
Shaping Up
Girls only! Have you ever wondered if a certain color is right for you? Or what would be the best exercise to flatten your abs? What do you need to do to be your best? Offered only at Teen Camp
 
 
 
Small Engine
You will get practical hands-on experience working on the camp’s go-carts during this class. Learn how to change the oil, replace spark plugs, and the do’s and don’ts of engine maintenance. Won’t your parents be surprised when you change the oil in the family lawn mower next time!
Offered only at Specialty Camp.
 
 
Soccer
It’s a Goal! Can’t stay away from the field? Join this class, and learn all there is to know about the game.  Kickoffs, breakaways, dribbling, and of course, scoring. Let our staff show you the ins and outs of soccer at its finest. At the end of the week you can test your newly acquired skill in the annual camper vs. staff soccer game. Offered only at Specialty Camp.
Wakeboarding
Wait till your friends hear that you learned how to wakeboard at camp.
Whether you are a beginner or experienced in the sport, you will be able to practice and learn new, advanced techniques. Learn to jump, ride the wake,
and more. welder and torch. Additional $10 fee will apply
 
Wilderness Survival
If you were lost in the forest. . . could you make a shelter for yourself?
Would you know which plants are edible? Once you found the edible plants, would you know how to prepare them? Take this class with instructor and Outdoor Education instructor and you will gain skills to survive in the wilderness. Offered only at Specialty Camp.
